Paul Nordby, located in Indianapolis, IN: Paul is one of the best in the business. Specializing in Bassoon maintenance and restoration, he is the choice repair man for bassoonists all over the world. You can trust him with your bassoon's life! He also teaches repair workshops at the Glickman-Popkin Bassoon Camp. He usually has a long wait list of about 6 months, so plan ahead!
Norbert Nielubowski, located in St. Paul, MN: Norbert is contrabassoonist of the Minnesota Orchestra and teaches bassoon at the University of Minnesota. He is one of the best bassoon repair techs in the area out of his home in St. Paul. Anything from quick repairs to full maintenance, Norbert has a quick turnaround.
Midwest Musical Imports, Minneapolis, MN: With a specialized team of double reed repair specialists, they can do anything from basic maintenance to full overhaul. They usually have about a month's wait for appointments, and ask for a week's time to work on any instrument.

Trevco-Varner Music: My go-to! Search by composer, publisher, or specific instrumentation to find a wide selection of works, including arrangements. They even include lists of current and upcoming competition repertoire for easy ordering. Always fast shipping!
Groth Music: A great local sheet music resource for the Twin Cities in Minnesota, owners of Eble Music. They have a showroom in Bloomington with all kinds of sheet music, and they maintain a surprisingly large selection of bassoon music and etude books as well as mixed chamber music. They offer teacher discounts and will order anything they don't have if you ask.
IMSLP: Did someone say FREE music?! This website is the Wikipedia of sheet music. Print, save, or even upload PDF's of music 60-70 years old (depending on which country you live in, copyright dates vary). This is a great source for finding full orchestral parts, transcriptions, arrangements, different editions of standard solos and even brand new works. Search by instrumentation, genre, or composer. Donate if you can to keep it running!
